Annual Fund Manager
The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the Detroit Riverfront into a world-class public space. Since its founding in 2003, the Conservancy has led the development, maintenance, and programming of the Detroit Riverwalk, Dequindre Cut, and surrounding green spaces, welcoming more than three million visitors annually.
The organization's mission is to ensure a vibrant, accessible riverfront that fosters community connection and engagement for future generations.
The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy seeks an Annual Fund Manager to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to grow annual giving, corporate sponsorships, foundation support, and donor engagement. This role will also lead the establishment of the Conservancy's first planned giving program to secure legacy gifts. This hybrid role is based in Detroit, with offices along the scenic Detroit Riverfront.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive annual giving strategy, including appeals, e-campaigns, and giving circles to increase donor participation and gift sizes.
- Cultivate and grow corporate sponsorships and manage relationships with foundations to secure funding through grants and sponsorships.
- Establish and manage the Conservancy's planned giving program, fostering legacy giving from key donors.
- Track fundraising metrics, analyze trends, and provide recommendations to increase donor engagement and revenue.
- Collaborate with the Director of Events and Branding to strengthen event sponsorships and develop donor-focused programming.
- Plan and execute stewardship events to cultivate relationships with donors and deepen their connection to the Conservancy's mission.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with a proven track record in managing annual giving campaigns, donor engagement, and solicitation strategies.
- Experience cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donor relationships to build long-term support.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor appeals and presentations.
- Proficiency with Raiser's Edge NXT or similar donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A passion for the mission of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy and its role in the community.
